How the event went
2 Days, 700 Voices: Here's What Happened at ECOM21!
Wow, what a ride! Two intense days with 700 incredible people from 37 countries, 70 speakers, and 72 amazing partners. Honestly, we’re still catching our breath.
From inspiring keynotes to the first-ever Activity Stage (which was as relaxed as it was engaging), and workshops buzzing with ideas, ECOM21 was packed with energy. And then there was the Business Speed Dating - 100 people, deep in conversation. It took an hour and a half to get everyone to finally call it - what a vibe! (and how was your voice the next day?)
And let's not forget the two evening parties. Genuinely relaxed, and full of those little moments that make it all worthwhile.
A massive thank you to our attendees - all 700 of you! You showed up, put yourselves out there, and made connections that felt real. It’s you who make all the work worth it. You’re the reason we keep pushing, keep creating.
And to our 72 partners and 75 speakers, thank you for believing in us and in this platform. You brought the expertise, the curiosity, and the willingness to share. We’re all about building connections that last - and you reminded us why we love doing this every year.
The biggest shoutout has to go to the ECOM'21 team. The volunteers, the organizers, everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes - you're simply the best. Hats off to each and every one of you. We couldn’t have done this without you.
Next week, we’ll be sharing more of the moments from the event - but for now, let’s just say: thank you.
What conference organizers say
WOW! 700 attendees from 37 countries, 70+ speakers, and 70+ partners at ECOM21 this year!
Let me share a little backstory that not many people know. When I joined DECTA four years ago, my manager Nikita said that we need to organize a conference.
I asked, “Do you mean a corporate event for DECTA employees?”
He replied, “No, I mean a proper public event. One where we handle everything ourselves—find partners and speakers, sell tickets, and make sure everyone leaves happy and inspired.”
I asked, “Do we have a vision or a specific plan?”
His response: “That’s now in your hands. Create a vision and organize the event the way you think is best.”
I said “cool” and smiled, but at that moment, I could never have imagined how much trust people would place in our vision or how much support we would receive for this event. Fast forward to today, and I can proudly say that we have more than 250+ attending companies every year (yes, really!), and many of them have been with us for all three years of ECOM’21
This year, we truly outdid ourselves: 5 stages discussing 4 diverse topics, engaging workshops, NFC badges, business speed dating, 2 fantastic networking events with our amazing evening partners, an NFT treasure hunt and so much more!
I can’t express how grateful my team and I are to DECTA, Mastercard, KPMG Latvia, all our partners, speakers, and every single attendee for trusting our vision and making ECOM’21 possible.
And a special shoutout to my incredible team—Liva and Eva —our amazing partners Mproject and LISTT and our dedicated volunteers. You are the core of this magic we create every year. You are truly the best! To the next one?
